When you’re choosing holiday location for your summer holiday, Cornwall is always a good bet. Most of the summer, you get lovely weather and even when you get that misty rain that Cornwall sometimes does, you can always find plenty of ways to keep entertained away from the beach.

One great option for the whole family is to stay at a campsite like Mullion holiday park. Rain or shine the kids will be able to enjoy the heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and there are lots of activities and entertainment put on at the kids’ club by the holiday park staff.

Mullion is found at the very south western tip of Cornwall, on the Lizard peninsula. Local tourist attractions include the National Maritime museum, the National Seal Sanctuary and the Flambards Experience – Cornwall’s biggest theme park.

So, whether you’re looking for time on the beach, enjoying the beautiful Cornish coastline, or you want to do something different every day, the Lizard Peninsula has all the ingredients for a perfect family holiday.

Staying on a holiday park is great for children, as there is a ready supply of other children there for them to play with and make friends with. And while they’re busy making friends and having fun, it gives the parents a chance for some down time too, so that the holiday can be every bit as much about them as well as the children.

And if you’re the kind of family who likes to move around during the holidays, then you could always opt for a two or three centre break, booking in for three or four night stays at different holiday parks rather than needing to commit to a whole week in one location.

Whether you stay in your own tent or touring caravan, or hire a static caravan at the holiday park, you’ll still be able to enjoy all the facilities on offer. Campsite holidays in Cornwall are great fun – but the best way to see if you’d like them is to try one for yourself!

When you think about buying a holiday home, it often settles into being a daydream as the costs of owning a second home are really quite significant. When you start to look around at the price of country cottages, you discover that there aren’t so many bargains around these days.

A cheaper alternative is to buy a park home. This may not be quite the chocolate box image you had in mind, but buying a static home on a holiday park has many advantages. Firstly, they’re often in great locations by the seaside or in a beautiful rural location. Secondly, they’re on registered park home sites, so you will have other facilities there – often including social facilities – and the community that that offers.

Although you won’t be in splendid isolation, you’ll have the security of knowing that the park home site is occupied year round, so even if you’re not there, your property you will be relatively secure. Of course, sites vary, so before deciding if and where to buy a mobile home, you need to do some research on the location as well as the static caravan itself.

Many people let out their static caravans to other people as a holiday let, which can be a useful supplementary income; and a good way of using the property while you’re not staying there yourself. Others just keep it for themselves and friends and family to use.

If you own a mobile home, you’ll need to get static caravan insurance for it. Although this isn’t a legal requirement, these are pretty valuable assets and if it went up in smoke or was irreparably damaged by a storm, you wouldn’t be able to recover your losses without insurance.

Mobile home insurance is similar to house insurance, in that you need both buildings and contents cover. Many insurers will only insure mobile homes that are kept on registered and licenced park home sites.

Get some different quotes before you decide which policy to choose. You may wish to go with a specialist leisure insurer. Look Caravan Insurance is available from Look Insurance – a company that specialises in insurance for static caravans, touring caravans, boats, classic cars and holiday homes.

If you’ve ever thought about a lifestyle switch which involves getting around on two wheels under your own steam, then now’s the time to do it. And here are some very good reasons….

It’s healthy and good for you. The exercise you will get when you start to cycle regularly is a great way to keep fit and toned. Imagine – enviable legs without an expensive gym membership!

It’s a hobby the whole family can enjoy. Get everyone involved and whether you’re on holiday camping in Scotland or just getting to school and back you will wonder how you ever managed without your bikes.

Cycling is sociable. If you are looking to increase your circle of friends or even meet a special someone then cycling clubs are a great place to start. Mountain biking or road biking – the choice is yours.

Its bang on trend. With Olympic fever gripping the nation you can get on board and support the Team GB cyclists as they go for gold! Oh, and the sports gear you get to wear is quite cool too…

You can reduce your carbon footprint. By leaving the car at home you are dramatically reducing your impact on the planet which is something to feel really good about.

It will save you money. Just think of all the fuel costs you will save if you leave the car on the drive – not to mention paying for parking, servicing and valeting. You might even save up enough for those dream half term breaks the kids have been nattering about!

It can be a tax benefit. Ask your company if you can buy a brand new bike at a reduced cost through the business – and even pay for it in instalments tax free! There really is no excuse to get cycling; two wheels are definitely better than four.

Owning a caravan is a great way to have economical holidays while being able to take some home comforts with you. You never have any worries about having uncomfortable pillows or less than perfect bed linen on your travels – you bring your own with you.

Of course, buying a caravan is quite an expensive business, but once you’ve spent the money on purchasing your caravan, each holiday begins to pay back the cost of the vehicle, as you should have many years’ use from it.

The amount you spend depends on whether you’re buying a new caravan or you choose to get a second hand one. There are other costs to think about, including maintenance and repairs, and an annual service.

Another annual cost is insurance. Although it’s not compulsory to have insurance for a caravan it is a small cost compared with the amount you would have to spend if your caravan was damaged or stolen and you didn’t have any cover.

With many insurers you’ll just be offered a standard caravan policy, but if you click here for Touring Caravan Insurance at Look you’ll see that you can build a policy to suit your particular needs. This includes the amount of contents cover you specify and whether you want to increase personal liability limits. And if you have a new caravan you can choose ‘new for old’ cover which means you will get a replacement caravan in case yours is stolen or damaged beyond repair.

If you’re looking to renew your caravan policy in the next few weeks find out about Touring Caravan Insurance here and see what a great price a specialist leisure insurer can offer you.

When it comes to Vauxhall contract hire there are a number of popular options that people can consider when they invest in a long-term car purchase. A structured Hire Purchase (HP) and Personal Contract Purchase are just some of the most popular options available, which are incredibly flexible ways for people to buy a new car, and pay for it each month without breaking the bank.

The right Vauxhall lease should be flexible, yes – but people should always do their homework first, and evaluate exactly how much they have to spend per month before they commit to a long-term car purchase. By complementing an affordable lease plan with a solid, structured monthly budget, people can get the kind of car they’ve always wanted for a fixed cost, that won’t leave them out of pocket.
The Benefits of PCP

Take Personal Contract Purchase as an example. Say somebody wanted to invest in a Vauxhall Corsa leasing plan, and own one of the most popular cars in Vauxhall’s range. PCP is flexible because it allows the buyer to compromise with the lender, and let them decide how much deposit they initially want to put down on the car. The more deposit that’s paid, the less they’ll have to pay on a monthly basis. Simple economics!
But though it’s flexible, there are also fixed aspects. The Corsa, as with every other car bought via PCP, will have a Guaranteed Future Value (GFV), meaning that the owner will never be in negative equity. Monthly payments will be fixed, meaning there won’t be any nasty bill amendments dropping through the letterbox each month. When the contract is over, people can buy the car with one final balloon payment, trade it in for another PCP contract and more! PCP is one of the most reliable and flexible car payment methods on the market today.
Contract Hire Perfection

There are, of course, other finance options out there for people to choose, and it’s important that they choose a leasing plan that’s most suitable for their needs. There’s no doubting however that the right financing package can get people a phenomenal new Vauxhall for an affordable monthly fee. Vauxhall Motors is one of the world’s most renowned automobile manufacturers, with an incredible range of cars that can help people from all walks of life, whether they need a Vauxhall for personal or professional purposes. A great Vauxhall lease plan is the best way for people to get the car they’ve always wanted.

If yours is the kind of family that likes to go back to the same holiday venue time and time again, then getting a static caravan is a great idea. You can choose a spot on a holiday park near your favourite beach or seaside resort and it will quickly have that iconic place in your children’s hearts as where they spent so many great holidays during their childhood. You never know, you might be taking your grandchildren to the same place in years to come.

If you buy rather than rent a static home, then you’ll need to consider all costs associated with it – for maintenance and insurance. If you want further information, you can find out about static caravan insurance here.

But you might prefer to try different places for your holidays – in which case a touring caravan might be a better investment. You can go wherever you please, including crossing the channel and heading into Europe with a touring caravan. Every campsite has electric hook-ups and facilities for caravans and campervans and the rent per pitch is very cheap.

Of course, the cost of buying a caravan can vary. It depends what size and model you get, and whether you want to buy brand new or second hand. Again, there are maintenance costs to consider and insurance. Insurance policies can also vary – depending on the level of cover you’re looking for. For example, if you have a very new model, you might want to choose the ‘new for old’ cover, and if you have a lot of valuable stuff inside the caravan, then you’ll want a reasonably high amount of contents cover. There are some great prices on insurance for caravan at Look insurance.

If you do a lot of driving when you go on holiday, the ever rising petrol prices that we’ve all been subjected to can really make the cost of the holiday rack up. It’s getting to the point where destinations are being changed in order to save money on the amount of petrol being used in journeys.

For instance, if you live in Cornwall and want to go up to Scotland on holiday, driving there will cost you a small fortune, unless you have a car that has really great fuel economy. One option is to fly and then hire a car when you get there, but actually if you work it all out, the flight and the car hire will probably be about the same as driving the whole way. And of course, there are advantages to driving direct from home. Firstly, you’ll have plenty of room to take everything you want without any luggage restrictions imposed by airlines and secondly, you won’t be tied to anyone else’s schedule but your own.

So, if you’re a family that spends a lot of time on the road – whether it’s for an annual holiday to visit distant relations or because you do a lot of weekend trips – it may be worth thinking about changing your car for one that is more economical to run.

The range of eco cars UK showrooms stock has increased greatly in the last decade. Ten years ago, it would have been difficult to find anything that was good on fuel economy and low on emissions. Today that has become the standard, whether or not the car is labelled as an eco-friendly car. All new cars have better fuel economy than their predecessors. Now, whether it’s a hybrid like a Honda Insight or a Toyota Prius or an electric vehicle like a Nissan Leaf, eco cars offer great fuel economy alongside being better for the environment. But there are also new diesels that can better some hybrids on fuel economy and lower emissions.

If you’re considering changing your car, it’s definitely worth doing some decent research to check out all the different options – purchase cost, running costs, fuel economy and performance – as the ones that score most highly across the board may not be the ones you might think.

At its simplest a Campervan is a van or similar that you could, as a minimum requirement, sleep in. People have used their ordinary panel vans, put a mattress in the back and set off! Modern Campervans are just up market versions of this traditional basic.

Many people have the skills to convert their minibus or van or indeed any other large enough vehicle into a Campervan as a DIY project or they can use a professional company to convert it. As a minimum the van will need windows fitting and perhaps a roof extension. There are a range of other things to consider from sound and heat insulation to space heaters, cookers and fitted cushions for the beds. The conversion can be cheap or as high-end and plush as your pocket will allow.

A critical part of the conversion are the windows – they can be bought single paned or double glazed. Double glazing is a major benefit for sound and heat insulation and these windows can looks very smart. Usually supplied in an assembly ready to install – some stylish with grey acrylic double glazed pane and black frames together with integral roller blind and fly net.
With the windows fitted then thoughts can begin of installing running water or installing second batteries and sorting the electrics.

Ice cream from Switzerland, chocolates from Belgium, marinated chicken and French fries are transported across the world in one state – frozen. Dry ice once revolutionized the shipping of food, but was subsequently found to have negative affects on our environment. Nowadays a different mode of food delivery appears to have taken over … trucks equipped with “Cryogenic freezers” and generators that keep conditions stable.

On a much smaller and more local scale, the Pizza Delivery person, on fuel efficient scooter, delivers locally using a corrugated cardboard box and thermal bag to keep the product hot. The bags are made of vinyl, cordura or nylon and passively retain the heat. Other fast food emporiums have been fast to recognize the advantages of road transport with built in freezer, priding themselves as they do, on fresh food. Some countries of course still rely on a horse and cart to deliver food to market!

Apparently, recently a woman driving a horse and cart was turned away from a fast food Drive Thru outlet as workers decided it represented a health hazard. Apparently they didn’t do a la carte!

Like road transport, water transport has been about for millenia. The 1st sorts of water transport were potentially some kinds of canoes cut out from tree trunks. Earlier boats and ships depended on being rowed and wind for propulsion, or a mix of both. Once a bridge or tunnel is made across an area of water, water transport that used to move passengers and products across that expanse of water have been downsized.

Tunnels, eg the Channel Tunnel that connects rail tracks for high speed trains in Great Britain with those in France, have given extraordinarily powerful competition for the ferries that connect Dover ( Britain ) with Calais ( France ). But water transport has controlled in transport services for hundreds of years on long sea trips till the rise of air transport.

Recently ships have been engineered to be much quicker to be more competitive. Though comparatively slow, modern water or sea transport are noticeably less pricey to use matched against air transport for carrying a big number of passengers for short inter island trips and amounts of non perishable products in transcontinental routes.
